Why Humanism, Now

Planetary Humanism for an interdependent world.

Climate change, technological disruption, geopolitical tensions and declining trust are interconnected expressions of a wider polycrisis.

The World Humanism Forum brings together cultures, disciplines and generations to reconnect knowledge, deepen understanding and cultivate responsibility. It works alongside existing institutions, creating environments where dialogue can build trust and collaboration.

The intellectual foundation

Learning to think in a world of complexity

Edgar Morin’s work is one of the central intellectual inspirations of the World Humanism Forum.

His thought helps us understand why the crises of our time cannot be approached through fragmented knowledge, isolated disciplines or simplified solutions. It invites us to reconnect what has been separated: the individual and society, knowledge and responsibility, humanity and the living world.

The Forum carries this inspiration into a contemporary and intercultural exploration of Planetary Humanism, education, leadership and action.

The Framework

From encounter
to shared action.

Four connected practices guide the Forum. They are not a linear method: each strengthens the others.

Convene

Create the conditions for genuine encounter across disciplines, sectors, cultures and generations.

Understand

Reconnect knowledge and read contemporary challenges through the lens of complexity.

Connect

Turn conversation into trusted relationships and continuity between people and institutions.

Act

Carry understanding into education, publications, partnerships and responsible initiatives.

The House of Wisdom

A new chapter of dialogue between Europe and the Gulf, inspired by the Renaissance salons of Florence, the Arab Majlis and the historic House of Wisdom in Baghdad.

Hospitality replaces protocol. Conversation replaces presentation. A small group gathers around one table to build understanding, trust and the possibility of collaboration.
